A glimpse of the future...

Much has been said about how all these fine athletes, the best of the best, the top tier of football players in the country are the collegiate and NFL stars of tomorrow.  During the All-Americans' downtime, we can find an interesting glimpse into that future today. 

In the hospitality room of the Sheraton Suites where the players are staying, Offense-Defense has set up 6 big screen TVs to go along with 6 Playstation 2s and several copies each of Madden '08 and NCAA Football 2008.  It's the video game generation, and no where is that more apparent than here.  When not on the practice field or with other obligations, this is the place to be.  Bowl Athletes, four at a time on each machine, take turns playing the game they love on the virtual field and then the revelation hits...these young men will be IN those games soon.  A few years down the road and the batch of All-American athletes playing these games THEN will be controlling their predecessors, vicariously living the life they themselves will be in a short period of time.

It's an interesting, ultimately very cool cycle.  For those of you who don't have the pleasure of being here, at least you can take heart that in a few years time, you can score touchdowns with these guys yourself.
