Peddie senior Matt Brown has been selected to play in the second-annual Offense-Defense All-American Bowl in Miami on Friday, January 4, 2008. Bringing together over 80 of the best high school football players from across the country, the marquee event will be the final football game ever played at Orange Bowl Stadium. The game will be broadcast live nationwide by Fox College Sports beginning at 7 p.m. and will be replayed 12 times including on the day of the Super Bowl.

Chosen as a cornerback, Brown will be a member of the East squad coached by a cadre of the most qualified personnel available including legendary ex-NFL wide receiver and current HBO football analyst Cris Carter. Brown produced school records against Wyoming Seminary when he rushed for 319 yards and notched 356 all-purpose yards. For his stellar 2007 campaign, Brown was honored at the school’s Fall Sports Banquet with the Maurice P. Shuman Football Award as the outstanding football player.

Brown has raised a few eyebrows according to the recent USA TODAY coverage on the event. USA TODAY
