Peach State offensive tackle Cordy Glenn took part in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl last week and this is a game he will not forget. The four-star OL knows this was his last high school game and he enjoyed every minute of it. The weather was nasty, there were a lot of penalties in the game and the fireworks went off two minutes early, but this is an experience Glenn will remember forever.
"I knew I was playing my last high school game, so that is what I am going to remember the most about this," said Glenn about the Offense-Defense All-American game last Friday.
"We won, I played with a lot of great payers and I met some new people, but it being the last game is what sticks out the most. I really enjoyed it and had a great time."
He flew down to Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) on January 1 and then hit the practice field on January 2.
"The coaches there taught us a lot and it was nice to work against some great competition. The coaches down there showed the linemen a lot of new things and kind of showed it to us from a different aspect to help me understand it."
The player of the game Friday night in the East win was Florida commitment Earl Okine. He could not be stopped by the West and that is one of the guys Glenn went up against in practice.
"He is a real good player and going up against him made me better," the Georgia commitment admitted. "He is going to Florida, so I know I will play against him four times. He is really quick and he made me a better college prospect."
Okine is a guy the 6-foot-6, 315-pound mobile tackle with play against in the future, but he also had three athletes there he will be playing with in Athens next year as well.
"All those guys are cool," Glenn said when asked about Brandon Boykin, Marcus Dowtin and Makiri Pugh. "I knew Brandon already, but I was able to meet Marcus and Makiri down there."
"We talked a lot and hung out, but we didn't really talk too much about Georgia. We just got to know each other better and it was real exciting to see them play since I will be playing with them at Georgia."
All future Dawgs had their highlights in the game and Glenn was happy about his performance.
"Everyone out there made a mistake or two because we had to learn so much so fast, but I think I did pretty good. I had at least three pancake blocks and I think did real well in pass protection. I went against some good ends and I think I did well against them."
Now that the UGA commitment is back home, will recruiting heat back up?
"I am done with recruiting," Glenn said. "I am very happy with my decision and excited about Georgia. I am just going to hang out and wait for signing to come. I am not going to visit any others schools and I am signing with Georgia."
